DuraCoder®: Originally designed in 1993 for steel mill and earth mining equipment, AMCI’s DuraCoder® brand encoders have grown in popularity and are used in today’s most grueling applications. Considered the most durable line of rotary shaft encoders available anywhere, DuraCoder encoders are resolver-based for durability, and offered in five different output versions. Sold in an industry standard 2.5″ (63 mm) housing, DuraCoder fits most applications. Additionally, a large 4.25″ size multi-turn Analog output version is available for applications in steel mills, wastegate flood control, and any other environment subject to brutal conditions.

AMCI’s DuraCoder is a field programmable rotary shaft encoder, possessing unbelievable flexibility. Its primary function is to convert rotary motion into useful information. The core parameters determined are speed, rate, velocity, distance, position, or direction. A typical application will use one or more of these parameters as feedback to the controller in a motion control system.

AMCI’s DuraCoder® brand encoders are now available with stainless steel housings and an IP69K rating for operation in the most extreme conditions. AMCI DuraCoders have a superior shaft load rating; providing a longer life cycle than other encoders. Many industrial applications require encoders that withstand a variety of harsh environments. AMCI’s stainless steel DuraCoders reliably perform in applications where standard encoders fail.
ME15 Series: Following in the DuraCoder’s footsteps, AMCI offers a line of magnetic rotary encoders, designed with the same guiding principle – DURABILITY. Available in SSI, Analog Voltage, or Current Output, the ME15 series of magnetic rotary encoders are ideal for price sensitive applications, where shock, vibration and contaminants are present.
AMCI’s ME15 SSI & Analog rotary shaft encoder is designed for cost sensitive applications that require bullet-proof reliability. The ME15 magnetic encoder measures just under 1.5″ in diameter and is engineered for heavy-duty operation across a variety of industries. The encoder’s IP67 rating protects against dust and moisture, and the sensor’s compact design only relies on two components, ensuring trouble free operation.
AMCI’s ME15 SSI & Analog encoder utilises a small diametrically polarised magnet and a custom ASIC that contains an array of Hall sensors that generate a voltage when exposed to a magnetic field. The ASIC detects the change in magnetic flux distribution as the magnet rotates above it and outputs a voltage level that represents the angular position. The ASIC also has the ability to ignore any interfering magnetic fields, allowing the ME15 to operate in areas of high external fields.
Summary: The ME15’s small size, high reliability, IP67 protection rating and low cost make it an ideal replacement for potentiometers and small industrial encoders. A sturdy machined housing and a high resistance to shock and vibration make these encoders an ideal fit and capable withstanding difficult environmental conditions, including electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise generated by neighbouring currents.
NR25 series: of heavy-duty EtherNet/IP encoders are ODVA compliant and compatible with all PLCs/PACs that support EtherNet/IP. The NR25 series networked encoders are available in absolute single-turn and multi-turn packages using an IP67 rated 2.5″ size industrial housing. Solid shaft and hub shaft styles are available to suit various mounting requirements. These EtherNet/IP absolute rotary encoders provide up to 30 bit total resolution, delivering 16 bit (65536 steps) per revolution and up to an additional 14 bit (16384 revolutions) for multi-turn versions.

AMCI’s EtherNet/IP encoders are designed for simple set-up and trouble free performance. The NR25 networked encoders are compatible with all Allen-Bradley & Schneider PLCs and PACs that support EtherNet/IP. Programmed using Rockwell Automation’s RSLogix software or Schneider’s Unity Pro software ensures hassle free integration with your application.
